Summer College in Cyprus 2009
The Education Department of the European Trade Union Institute organised a joint course with the European Metalworkers’ Federation: Collective Bargaining Summer College which took place from 13 to 16 September 2009 in Protaras-Paralimni, Cyprus.
The aims of the course were to:
· Broaden and deepen the EMF collective bargaining coordination strategy in the framework of the financial crisis
· Analyse the impact of EMF policies on issues like working time, the development of precarious employment forms and outsourcing strategies.
· Debate on future perspectives in the collective bargaining work of EMF

EMF Launches 2nd Common Demand of the European metalworkers’ unions
“For more secure employment, against precarious work”
which will be included in the collective bargaining demands of all its 75 affiliated trade unions and in future collective bargaining rounds throughout Europe over the next four years.
