Collective agreement in the Finnish footwear and leather industries
Report about the collective agreement in the Finnish footwear and leather industries
The Finnish Chemical Workers’ Union has negotiated a collective agreement for the 1500 workers in the footwear and leather industries. The agreement follows roughly the pattern set earlier by the union in chemical, plastic, oil, rubber and glass industries.
The agreement in nutshell:
- agreement starts 20.6.2007 and is valid until 31.3.2010
- 20.6.2007 3,4%
- 1.9.2008 2,5% plus 0,4% to be negotiated locally
- 1.5.2009 € 0,25/hour but minimum 2,4% plus 0,4% to be negotiated locally.
The negotiations for agreements in textile and clothing industries and textile services were suspended and will continue in the autumn. The current agreements continue to be effective until the end of September 2007.
