Conflict in connection with revision of collective agreement
Information from NITO (Norway ) on conflict related to their current negotiations.
NITOs negotiations concerning revision of our Collective agreement with the employees organisation,-NHO, was closed after negotiations in October without an agreement.NITO could not accept that our demands about important rights for our members were not accepted at all. Within 2 days of negotiatons the employees did not show any kind of offers to our demands. The conflict is not about salaries.
NITOs most important demands are : 40% of our members do not get paid for overtime-work! And we have demanded payment for travelling in the companies`service after ordinary working time.
NHO has a very important demand to NITO that we cannot accept : They will set a higher limit for necessary number of members in the company to be covered by the collective agreement. (Today we need 1 member).
According to the Norwegian system, the next step is that the two parts meet the official mediator on th 17th and 18th of November If an agreement is not reached,-NITO will be on strike from the morning of November 19th
Totally the strike can cover 13.000 members, but in Fase 1,- approx. 1000 in 19 companies will eventually be striking from wednesday morning.
