Implementation of the EMF Common Demand in the new collective agreement between the employer and NITO
On the 25th of October 2006 an agreement was made between the employers organisation NHO and NITO for a new 2 years period:June 1st 2006 - May 31st 2008. The collective agreement is covering all branches where NITO has members, a total of approx. 18.000 members.
In the Norwegian bargaining rounds in this matter, we do not mention wages at all, since we have company negotiations only. In our collective agreement we find the criteria concerning the company negotiations. But what has been negotiated centrally this time was the EMF Common Demand. The result is as follows:
"Members of NITO are entitled to a meeting with their leader concerning his/hers individual need for training, and how this shall be achieved. This meeting can for instance take place in connection with the yearly "leader -employee conversation".The companies are important learning arenas. The companies are requested to arrange a system for documentation of the members` experience, courses and practice - related to his/hers employment."
Let me add that training concerning the member’s job position is paid by the companies.
Best regard,
Lasse Breen
