1. “ FNV expresses deep concerns regarding the employment situation of Tata Steel’s plant in the port city IJmuiden in North Holland. It currently employs as many as 9,500 people. However, after the hiring of consulting firm McKinsey in 2010 maximum profit seems to be the sole objective of the company. FNV demands new investments instead of more job cuts. 800 jobs were slashed last year. Press release attached.
2. Metalelektro: “ The collective agreement for the metalelektro sector was renewed for 26 months earlier this year. Among the key elements are sustainable employability, two training days each year, personal employability scans, different working patterns, better salary prospects for young workers and examination of pension schemes.
