I think you already know that the restructuring plan of Electrolux didn't stop. After Spain, England, Germany etc etc we are now (again) in Italy. It is only 2 years that we signed the agreement for the plant of Florence (200 redundancies) and now the group opened an investigation to close the plant joint to a reorganization of the cold production were we expect also a reduction for the other plant in Susegana. More, they announced other 400 redundancies all over Europe and we don't know where. We started already in Italy with strike and meeting but without any results. In spite of the investigation it seems that the group took already their decision (as usual: see Nuremberg). From the first announcement (2005) we lost more than 6000 workplaces in West countries! While We continue to lose workplaces, Electrolux continue to lose market shares in West countries. We decided a general strike of all plants on the 4th of April with a demonstration in Florence. Attached you will find the communiqué that the Italian unions and the national coordination made. We kindly ask you to send it round Europe and call for solidarity with our strike.
