Strike at Polish factory of Dong Yang Electronics

Since October 16th about 200 workers of Dong Yang Electronics [LG brand] in Mlawa, Poland, have been on strike. So far the management has illegally terminated labour contracts with the trade union leader in the company and about 180 striking workers, hiring new ones in their stead.
The management refused to sit at the negotiating table despite many attempts and involvement of the local authorities as mediators. By his actions the employer showed absolute disrespect for labour standards and the law granting the workers the right to strike. The information about this outrageous behaviour and request for personal assistance was also net to the Prime Minister of Poland.
The regional structures of NSZZ "Solidarnosc" have called for a solidarity action [rally, sending letters of protest to the management] to be held on 14 November.
